The Digital Guide for Blind and Visually Impaired Visitors. The Museums of the City of Vienna are committed to making their websites accessible. However, this subdomain does not currently fully comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). The accessibility of the digital content has been specifically optimized for on-site use. Tactile floor guidance systems, tactile maps, and models equipped with tactile QR codes provide the best user experience. This subdomain, guide.wienmuseum.at, provides a digital guide to various exhibitions of the Wien Museum. Please note the following information when using the guide: It includes audio files for more than 100 objects, additional media content, detailed textual descriptions of the objects. The most comprehensive descriptions are available in German. English has text and audio about chapters and objects. Room descriptions to support orientation and navigation are provided in German. Content for individual objects is also provided in Easy German. Access to the permanent exhibition at the Wien Museum on Karlsplatz begins with the building model located in the foyer. Access to the permanent exhibition at the Prater Museum begins with the building model on the ground floor. Other museum locations are not yet equipped with tactile floor guidance systems. Digital content for these locations can be accessed through the Locations section of the guide. Temporary exhibitions at the Wien Museum are equipped with tactile floor guidance systems and selected tactile stations. Content can be accessed on site via tactile QR codes. The starting point is always the introductory text on the fourth floor. If you have any questions, please contact a member of our staff. The Wien Museum offers special multisensory guided tours.
